Pancakes on Saturday morning
My husband is making me pancakes! I am the luckiest girl in America this morning. Listen people, you don't need Aunt Jemima, Bisquick or any other icky mix full of weird ingredients to make easy and delicious pancakes. Making them "from scratch" is (practically) just as simple as using a mix.
Check it out:
2 Cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 Tbs. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1 1/2 Cups milk
2 Tbs.
melted butter
Sift the dry ingredients together. Whisk eggs and milk together, add to flour mixture. Stir only until smooth, do not overmix. Blend in melted butter. Cook on a hot greased pan.
That's it! Anyone can do it. We like to add fun stuff to our pancake mix, like seasonal berries, banana slices, nuts, chocolate chips, whatever.
And of course the best part of the hubs making pancakes for me is that I get to play with the baby!!!

my favorite site for recipes
Not only does the writer at smittenkitchen.com share awesome and creative recipes like these cinnamon brown butter breakfast puffs, but her photos of the food make my mouth water, literally. I also like that you can search the entire site easily, and that she intersperses cute photos of her baby with the recipes and posts.

I love Puppy Chow
And I don't mean dog food. I'm talking about this ridiculously delicious and decadent snack-like dessert treat made with all my favorite bad things: peanut butter, chocolate, Crispix cereal, butter. And lo and behold, there's an entire website dedicated to the recipe and making of it!!

**Note** You do not need to add 1/4 cup butter. 2 Tablespoons gets the job done just fine. And then you can eat even more puppy chow with less guilt because you used less butter!
